Body Repair

Body panels are the exterior "shell" of the vehicle and serve cosmetic as well as functional purposes.
The body of your vehicle goes beyond aesthetics; it contributes to your protection in the event of a collision. After a collision, it is important to have your vehicle repaired by a reputable,
capable center.

Body panels are either repaired or replaced during the collision repair process. The technician determines the best course of action at the time of the repair. A good shop will deal directly with your insurance company during the entire repair process. This saves time, eliminates confusion and results in a much easier process for the customer.

If your vehicle is involved in an accident, no matter how minor, have the damage immediately inspected and evaluated by a collision repair professional. Neglecting body damage could jeopardize your safety and eventually lead more expensive repairs.

Enamel paints are all in one: base coat and the clear coat mixed together. Today, we use synthetic base coat/clear coat (two-stage) paint products that have the shine of the old lacquers but the flexibility and the durability that the lacquers did not have (with superior UV protection). The best thing you can do for your new paint be very gentle is not to wash it with soap every time.
No matter how good you rinse it, some soap film still remains. Rinsing with clear water while rubbing it with a soft cloth will remove dirt just as well as when using soap.

There are many products at the auto supply store to choose from when shopping for a car wash. The most important thing to look for is that they are non-abrasive. Leave the abrasive types to the pros. Incorrectly applying these abrasive products can harm the car’s finish in the super-soft, man-made towels available at auto parts stores. If you drop the towel or your wash cloth on the ground while using it, toss it to the side and get another. One speck of sand on
a cloth can actually put a scratch in your paint. This type of caution will help your keep your paint looking like new for years to come.

Frame

PBS Collision Center can repair your vehicle to pre-accident condition even when there is “frame” damage. The vast majority of vehicles today are constructed with what is commonly referred to as “unibody” frame construction. Unlike the one or 2 piece conventional frames of the past, unibody frame construction is made up of several parts and can be repaired when damaged. (read more)

Car Frame (Chassis)

The basic structure of the vehicle is the frame and it provides a good anchor point for the suspension system. There are two types of frames; integral frames, or ‘unibody’, and conventional frames.

The rectangular, usually steel frame, supported on springs and attached to the axles, that holds the body and motor of an automotive vehicle. A conventional frame is basically a ‘one-piece’ frame; or two ‘one-piece’ frames fastened together. These frames are extremely rigid to keep all the parts of the car in perfect alignment, which are attached to it. It is constructed of heavy steel and welded or cold riveted together. Cold riveting keeps the rivets from shrinking after they cool off. Once this type of frame is compromised it is often difficult to repair.

The integral, or unibody, frame is just the opposite. With this type of frame, the body parts are used to structurally strengthen the entire car, and all of the sections are welded into one piece.

Sometimes the parts of the body and the suspension system are attached and reinforced. Also, some unibody frames have partial front and rear frames for attaching the engine and suspension members. When there is damage to a unibody frame, the vehicle is deconstructed to reveal the damaged part. The parts are then replaced with a high tech calibration method and the car is reassembled.
